At the core of the project lies the TriαSi™ platform, a flexible activated aluminosilicate technology platform enabling both mainstream concrete products and leading-edge low-carbon solutions. Through industrial implementation, optimisation and environmental verification, the project has demonstrated CO2 reductions of more than 50%, with RELOW products approaching 60% reduction compared to conventional reference products.
Building directly on the RELO research project, WARM has successfully translated the TriαSi™ platform from laboratory development into full-scale industrial production through this MUDP-supported lighthouse project. The project validates that activated aluminosilicate binder systems can replace a substantial share of conventional clinker while maintaining industrial robustness, DS/EN compliance, durability and economic competitiveness.
Beyond climate impact, WARM demonstrates how future concrete production can become significantly more resource-efficient and circular. The project documents large-scale integration of recycled concrete aggregates, reduced dependency on virgin raw materials and near zero-waste production strategies, where rejected concrete components can be directly reintroduced into production. In several cases, recycled concrete avail-ability became the limiting factor rather than technical feasibility, highlighting a fundamental shift in how concrete waste may be viewed in future construction systems.
The results presented in this report demonstrate that the technological foundation required to meet, and potentially exceed, the original 2030 cli-mate ambitions for the concrete industry already exists today.
