A MUDP project
The aim of the current MUDP-project was to develop a unique optical measuring system for particulates monitoring in wet gasses, as well as in areas where flammable liquids, oil mists, gasses or dusts occur, and ignite (Explosive Atmospheres areas). Such a system is needed as many vessels use “Scrubbers” to meet regional and global environmental requirements for using low sulfur fuel or reduction of SO2 and particulate emission pollution. Scrubber technologies are often based on rinsing the flue gas to reduce SO2 and particulate emissions, thereby creating wet gases which existing measurement technology in the chimney cannot handle. The development of a new wet-gas-meter would therefore allow for more precise monitoring of particle emissions and pollution.
