Autonomous weeders for Christmas tree plantations - a feasibility study

The report presents a feasibility study concerning use of autonomå machines for mechanical weed control in Christmas tree plantations. The present control methods are associated with problems. Spraying cause pollution and low biodiversity. Mechanical weeding leads to high costs, especially of labour. It is concluded that it from a technical point of view is feasible to develop autonomå machines, that these will have less environmental impact and that costs will be acceptable in a relative short term.
