Indirect Effects of Fungicides and Herbicides on Arthropods

In winter wheat field plot experiments, herbicides and fungicide Tilt top caused widespread and negative effects on arthropod abundances and diversity. Herbicides affected most groups and species. Fungicide effects were common and dosage-dependent but restricted to fungivorå insects. It is argued that such effects are indirect following observed direct effects on weeds and on saprophytic and pathogenic leaf fungi. Improved mycological methods were developed and applied.
