Host Plant Resistance in A. nordmanniana to D. nordmannianae

This report on resistance of Nordman Fir to silver Fir wolly adelgib centers on the effects on infestation of flushing time, flushing speed, and secondary compounds. The degree of infestation by the adelgid seems to be partly correlated with the contents of secondary compounds in the trees. Flushing time and speed accounted for only a small fraction of the variation in adelgid occurence. The four provenances could be separated effectively by the chemical analyses.
