Migration and Biodegradation of Pesticides in Fractured Clayey Till

29-05-1998

The mocroobiological degradation rates in the till is slower than in the root zone.  The flow and solute transport is controlled by fractures and can rapidly bypass the till matrix.  Application of pesticides during the winter is espected to impose the risk of pesticide infiltration to drains and groundwater rain storms. Modelling provides useful information on pesticide migration behaviour in fractured clayey tills.
